Bitter-Sweet Smoked Paprika - La Chinata
Spanish ‘Pimenton de la Vera’ (Paprika from La Vera) is made from fresh ripe red peppers. The peppers are then dried and smoked with oak wood for two weeks. This is where it gets its incomparable aroma and taste from. The paprika is then ground several times, until its unique fine texture is obtained.
Paprika from ‘La Vera’ is like no other in the world, hence its Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) ‘Pimenton de la Vera’, which guarantees its origin, as well as the highest levels of quality. Its aroma, flavour and colour are characteristics which can only be reproduced in this area, using the traditional manufacturing process.
The ‘Bitter-Sweet’ variety has a very pleasant aroma with a mild hot taste, and is guaranteed to add a special touch to your favourite dish. It is commonly used by master cured Chorizo makers throughout Spain. Recommended for use in sauces and for marinating different meats.
