Balsamic Vinegar of Modena (PGI) by La Chinata
Balsamic Vinegar of Modena (Aceto Balsámico di Módena) is a well-known vinegar of Italian origin, produced in the region of Emilia-Romagna in the north of Italy.
As opposed to other vinegars, Vinegar of Modena is made directly with grape must. During the production process, new and aged vinegars are expertly blended to obtain the best result.
The vinegar is left to age for 4 to 5 years at the very least in wooden barrels to allow it to obtain its characteristic intense and slightly sweet flavour.
Vinegar of Modena makes an excellent salad dressing or vinaigrette, thanks to its intense flavour. It also goes very well with roast meats or other hot dishes.
This vinegar was originally called ‘Balsamic’ because it was used as a remedy against rheumatism, and was rubbed on the affected body parts like a balm.
Store in a cool dry place, away from sources of heat or light. Any deposit at the bottom of the bottle should not be interpreted as a sign of poor quality, it’s completely natural.
